I bought these from HD dealership last year at the insistence of the sales clerk that they were the bomb . much better than screaming eagles.
Is there any way to take these down (db) a notch or 2 ? get more of a rumble like the bike bikes/pipes do .
is it possible to add some of that glass around these baffles ? wrap ? don't want to sacrifice too much in power but these pipes wear me down aft a bit of riding .
i am currently down now getting a new paint & some powdercoating done , might as well start another project on the cheap ( i hope )
Pull the baffle out and if it isn't wrapped you can get exhaust wrap and wrap em...should dull it down a little. You should be able to get wrap from an auto store
i wrapped the baffles of my V&H straight shots with standard fiberglass mat found at Blowes, Home Cheapo, or even the wal-Marts. They have a nice rumble now at idle and cruising but still have a nice bark when i lay on it.
Yeah they are loud. I say ride the bike and enjoy it. I have open pipes on my bike and it never gets old-don't know why alot of you guys can't handle loud pipes???
I just bought these for my '11 Nightster. How would you say your experience has been with them?
I like the way they look , nice finish . Most people are happy with their sound out of the box. The previous owner had straight drag pipes on & they were obnoxiously load & harmful to the motor ( zero back pressure ).
I don't want that factory vacuum cleaner sound just a nice pronounced rumble . I plan to upgrade to a 2 to 1 system later .
I am currently having a repaint & powder coating done ,
figured while i'm down i'd try to do something exhaust wise in lieu of the 2 to 1 .
