Default Fingers going numb

I'm still a fairly new rider but I'm riding daily back and forth to work, and as much as I can on the weekends. The problem I'm having is that the thumb and pointer finger on my right hand keep going to sleep when I ride. I'm not sure what is causing this since I don't have similar symptoms in my left hand. I've wondered if I'm just gripping the throttle too tight or what. Anyone else have this problem any ideas for a solution?

Your right hand is in a different position while twisting the throttle and you need to keep more pressure on it as you must hold the grip while you twist. They make a throttle grip with a nub that goes on the palm side of your hand that relieves a lot of the pressure needed to grip and twist. you might try one.

Here's what I did. This little jobby will make it much easier on your right hand. And best of all its cheap.

Had a similar issue. Rolling the bars down a bit helped me.

But it will most likely go away because you are using your hand way more than you did!

I have issues with my right hand as well, it gets a little better if you get a set of ISO grips. But it still happens on long rides.

What bars do you have? My fingers went numb with stock bars because the way my wrist was twisted due to the pullback amount and angle. Same on Dyna too. Z-bars on Dyna straightened out the wrists and angled down some so no more numbness. Like the way it handles with them.

Had 4 " z-bars on the Sportster but going to get another of these for it too because they're 8" high, 5 1/4"pullback, just right height with 4" risers on both bikes.

Seems like quality chrome on them too. About $114.00 shipped.

heres something to try as well that i learned from my dirtbike days. when you grab your throttle roll your hand forward initially so when you twist it back the top of your hand is more in line with your arm than tilted back. that combined with loosening your grip should do the trick

More "handies" w/the right... JK

Get a set of Avon grips w/throttle assist - should do the trick.

It helped me when I got a pair of gloves with some gel padding in the palms.

Also, you might have a slight case of carpal tunnel that's worse in one wrist than the other. That's precisely my situation.

I have carpal tunnel in both wrists, but it's worse in the right wrist. With the padded gloves and a really good throttle lock that allows me to rest my wrist, it doesn't bother me that much.
