Has this bike been tuned by anyone? The cold cranking fuel table may be off if so. After my dyno tune my bike was dumping too much fuel on cold crank and flooding. If yours has been altered it might be too lean. Not likely you can tune it yourself.
I don't know (with certainty) but I'm confident the ECU hasn't been touched by anyone, at least not for performance reasons. The bike is bone stock with the exception of a few small cosmetic items and pipes, so far as I can tell.
Do you have the HD security system with the proximity key fob?
If you do you may want to check the battery in the key fob. The "smart fob" was introduced in 2007 and I notice your bike is a custom so I'm willing to bet your bike is equipped with it.
The Alarm would allow your fuel pump to prime up and the starter will fire but the bike will NOT start.
Try a new battery in your key fob before you spend money on a mechanic or at your local dealer.
any corrosion on the system relay? sounds like your starter relay is working. maybe you could switch the 2 relays and see what happens? if the system relay is bad and you switch it to the starter spot wouldn't the starter not turn then? might be worth a try.
I liberated a crankshaft position sensor from the local dealer this morning. Looks like I just bathe it in oil before installing it, but is there any torque specification that anyone knows of?

I've never torque them, can't really get a torque wrench in there on mine. I just dab the screw with a little bit of blue Loctite and snug the screw with a hex key.
I believe the tsm also has the tip over switch inside of it , that also could be bad , but I dont know if there is a test to check it , also check to see if your getting fuel through the injectors. when you disconnected the fuel lines did u check the check valve to make sure they opened up and let fuel flow. with the lines off use a small screwdriver to push up on the tab inside the check valve and see if gas runs out. also may check the plugs make sure there in good shape and getting good spark , but sounds more like fuel from your description

I think the ODO should show "TIP" if the sensor has been tripped? Though I did mention I was getting the TSM data DTC. I didn't inspect the check valve; if the CKS doesn't solve it, I'll go there next.

Are you sure that is the solution?
I had a similar situation with my 2008 883C and it ended up being the battery for the key fob.
