I've been looking to replace the OE speedometer with one which is more modern looking, less retro. Problem is they are listed with ratio's.
Maybe I missed it in my Repair manual. Does anyone know the speedometer ratio for an 80 sportster? If I change it out with an electrical one and add the mechanical/digital converter, does the ratio still matter? I also saw one that is calibrated via GPS. $300+ WTF? I just want to get rid of the two snow globes. I already removed the tach.
I have an 1980 sportster XLH
Thanks. Nick
