I was told to come here by a co-worker who has a Harley. I recently bought my first, but she's old. It's a 1978 Sportster. 1000 CC.

Needed to thouroughly be cleaned, which I have done, oil change and everything. My issue though is the finding an air filter. I got one that was supposed to fit my bike from K & N, but it is too thick.

Anyone have any suggestions? Comments? Help? This is my first Harley and am new to all of this and where to find things.

I might suggest getting a new air cleaner cover. I don't know which K&N filter you picked up but I know there's a housing to fit it.

Oh yeah, I forgot, if you're replacing the stock filter with the K&N, you'll need to rejet the carb.
