I've had to replace the fuel tank on my '09 Nightster. I brought the EFI pump and fittings from a HD dealer but the tank from somewhere else.
However, the new tank doesn't have a 'hole' for the vapor orifice? As shown in the pic with my old tank (green) it just stuck out the tank. I have the part from HD, but no hole to put it in (sounds familiar)?
Does a EFI tank have to have a vapour orifice (i'm guessing its a vapour pressure release?)?
I'm going to wash and seal the tank with the Kreem combo liquid and put some vasaline on the fuel pump seal. Any other hints and tips during installation?
Thanks in advance for any help!

Should i wash the tank and test it first, or send it to get sprayed, then wash and test?
Also, do i need to bleed the fuel pump before i turn the engine over for the first time?
depends if you trust where you got it from all should be good. as for pump i let mine cycle a few times by turning key on then off then back on a few seconds between each time. although im not sure if it was required. made me feel better though haha.
For reference, wash the tank first. The KREEM combo kit will cause damage to paint if it comes into contact with it. I currently washing it, but waiting out for the screws to fit the EFI pump so i can seal the tank.

I hope you don't try sealing that tank with the pump installed...crying will commence shortly thereafter. Just put some duct tape over the opening if you don't have a factory rubber plug.
Yeh thanks, i've made a plate to screw over the openings and going to seal with silicone. Waiting for the screws to arrive though, i hope they fit the threads.....

Really, the tape is good enough and the screw holes are blind anyway.
