Ordered a rear end lowering kit (brackets) for my 2012 iron 883 from Road 6 Custom and it does not fit. They state that it will fit 2012 iron 883 but it does not. The only way it looks like it will fit is if you remove the rear axle. But then how do you ride without a rear axle or rear tire?
Anyone know how these go on? Followed instructions but they are no good. Pictures on their website are so small you can't really see anything.
If you have pics of these installed on iron 883 I would appreciate it.
It'll fit. The rear end hasn't changed in a while as far as where the shocks mount. The front mount of the bracket should be where the original shock bolt was, and the rear mount where you'll now attach the shock should be to the rear.
Do you have pictures of how you tried to install it? Or a digital copy/pictures of the instructions?
Got the same kit on my 07 Nighty. When I get home I'll take some pictures. It fits but I do remember that the directions are ****. They guys at Road 6 are pretty solid dudes and you could call them for some help......let me take a look when i get home and I post something.

I see the 3 holes to mount the bottom of the shock. It is the first hole that I am having trouble with. There is a big circular tab on the back of the bracket that gets in the way of everything when you try to mount the bracket to the bike. That is what I could not figure out. Tried it all kinds of ways. Even had my dad stop by (retired mechanic) to make sure i wasn't blind and stupid. he could not get it any kind of way to mount due that big big tab on the back of the bracket.
I will wait and see the pics from shultzy60 to see how it is done.
Why the 2 threads on this and why call the company out in your title saying the kit does not work when you don't actually know yet? You need to do your research to actually see if it doesn't infact fit before you start calling out that companies parts don't work. Many have used this kit and it works fine.
Did you order the right one for a Sportster?
Did you check to see if the part number on what you got matches the part number they show on their website for a Sportster application?
Maybe the only way it looks like it will work is if you remove your head from your a$$. But then how do you ride with your head in your a$$?
Who in the hell are you to say i have my head in my *** you son of a bitch! All I said was it does not fit and then asked for help from other members on this forum.
Tell you what, come on down here to Valdosta, GA and text me when you get to town and I will meet you and shove your head up your ***.
229-300-5768 is my number *******. Be a man and say that to my face.
