took mine in for the 5K service a few weeks ago and the guy said mine was sticking open, but he wouldn't do anything about it since I had put on aftermarket grips...jerkoff
oh well, I don't really keep it wide open too often anyway
regardless though, that's kinda gay that he wouldn't do anything about it
The throttle tension screw wasn't tight. I had the bike towed to HD service shop and asked them to checkout the throttle.
I'm certainly not ruling out that I may have revved it a little, but I'm thinking stuck throttle because I let up off the throttle, pulled the clutch in and the engine continued to rev really high. Anyway, it happened so fast I didn't get to hit the kill switch.
No word yet from service shop about the throttle>
The bike could have not revved AT ALL, but if you kept the exact same throttle twist and didn't slack off at all (but squeezed the clutch in all the way) it would have sounded "wound out". Think about it... When you squeeze the clutch, you HAVE to let off the throttle. In a "knee jerk" emergency reaction, it's easy to forget a step in normal operations, or even add a step or two. But make no mistake, if you kept the throttle the same, and squeezed in the clutch as a reaction to something out of the ordinary, it will wind out loudly and still be functioning perfectly normal, with no malfunction at all.
Just another thinking,..it may be no relation to the throttle but just have high idle....? High idle is the common issue seen on EFI engine sportster .

As John Harper said, this is a twelve year old "Zombie" thread, if you are having trouble with your throttle sticking, you could start your own new thread.
