This forum is proving to be quite the resource. I think soon it'll be me -vs- the dealer trying to make the sportster dream a reality.
Anyhow, the color for the sportster I'd like is Vivid Black, now correct me if I'm wrong, but that would be considered Solid. I noticed on the HD website there are classifications for Solid and Colour. . .of course the Solid being cheaper. So, am I right? Vivid Black is considered Solid?
Just wondering, trying to stock up on amunition when getting down to business with the dealer. Also, if anyone has any words of wisdom or important points they can think of. . . it would be muchly appreciated.
Vivid Black is the cheapest color HD offers on a Sporty, no matter what they call it. Good luck on your purchase. Really no need to pay any more than MSRP + Freight on a Sporty. Don't forget to shop around, that's the biggest gun in your shopping weapons cache.
,,the HD stealer,,told me for my price$$$range its (VIVID BLACK) or nothing,,i told him see-ya,,they act as a two
tone is a great big deal,,not for the price they charge
but yea they said black was the cheapeast,,and chosen
alot,,
That is a solid color when I bought mine that is what I WANTED BUT they couldn't get one so I choose black cherry and they couldn't find that either so they found me A two tone blackcherry/blackpearl and didn't charge me for the twotone paint believe it is like 450.00 orso.
if you took vivid black as the main and pearl black as the other color would it be 2 tone and be an extra charge?

I don't know if that is an option... they have the color selection chart on the HD site...
I wanted black...they didn't have any available when I bought my bike either...
Now that I've seen several black Sportsters... I don't know that I'm sorry they didn't have it available... It would be my choice on a larger bike for sure... but not so sure on a Sportster anymore...
Your opinions my vary... maybe it's just me... lol
Yea .. do a search from the top of the tree using invoice as the keyword. Find the list of web sites that TCSTD posted. Theres maybe, I dont know 20 or so. One of them points you to a link where you can get the dealer invoice price. Havent used that kind of thing with Harley but have when buying my pickups and on this last occasion it saved me thousands.
