Alright I'm tired of searching and not finding my answer. I apologize if this is a repost.
I plan on wrapping my vance and hines short shots with black DEI exhaust wrap. I bought the kit so it came with the hi temp silicone coating.
All the forums I have read, people are using the hi temp coating on the outside after the pipes have been wrapped. Reading the can, it says also for engine blocks, exhaust pipes, etc.
I am thinking I will clean the headers a little bit, spray the headers directly with silicone coating, bake them in the oven for a little while, then wrap the headers and then spray the finished wrap with the silicone coating as well.
Has anyone sprayed the headers directly before wrapping? Am I on the right track?
