Default Softtail wheel?

Is it possible to put a 16 inch softtail wheel under a Sporty? I could of swore I saw a how to thread, and now I can't. Any insight would be great!

A friend of mine recently changed his Sporty wheels (for different Sporty wheels) and what surprised me is the screw holes are the same size both sides in the rear wheel. Big twin rear wheels, in my experience, have larger screws on the pulley side. So I suspect a softail wheel will not bolt straight in, also it may be wider.

my rear wheel came off a softtail. All I did was put my pulley and rotor on it. and turned it around. Softtails have the pulley on the left so I put my pulley on it and just made sure the tire went on in the right direction.

What year is yours? I've read that our axle sizes are different than the big twins.

Touring models went to 1" around 2000, then metric 25mm in 2008. The other models changed much later, with Softails having 3/4" at the rear and 1" at the front for a while. I think all models are now standardised on 25mm, just as once upon a time they were all 3/4".
