Tire fitment

So my 01 xl1200c is in need of new shoes and im wandering whats the biggest rubber i can fit on it im looking to go to like a 140 rear and a 100 or bigger front if i can..
any help is appreciated!

140 is the widest you can do on that bike.

thats cool im not looking for huge just want to be sure it will clear everything and not rub.

All of our measurements are based on wheels that are fit with the hubs that we have. With the stock rims it should fit but I cannot guarantee that.

Actual tire width varies by manufacturer, a 140 from Metz will fit, while a Dunlop 401 140 will not.

Stock 3" rims will take up to a 150, but the limiting factor is clearance with other things like the belt.

Following cHarley's point, some brands give fitted widths for their tyres on their websites, which may be wider or narrower than the nominal size, however in my experience they are not all reliable!
