Default adding another gear

Ok, so i have another question, hope somebody can help. I've seen kits where you can add another gear (6th) to a 5 speed tranny...I have a 4 speed trans on my 88...can I use the same kit on my bike? If not, has anyone seen a 5th gear kit that will work? Any input is appreciated. Thanks!

You may be out of luck. Baker make a 5-speed for 91 and later models, so contact them to see if they can help. Be aware these sorts of things don't come cheap! Most trans kits are for big twins, there don't seem to be so many for Sportys.
