no...i had 14's that weren't knurled and never had a problem. i used my muscles, lol.

mm thats a tough one. Mine move every once an a while but I just tightn them up. Have you stripped the knurled part of your bars? maybe your mounting clamps are too tall for your barz and you can't get a nice tight fit.

It all looked good to me. If i tighten it anymore i was going to break something. the pin fixed it all.

Some of us "pin" them. I drilled through the risers and the bars, tapped one end of the risers and ran a 1/4"x20 SS bolt through the entire assembly, trapping the bars in place. Worked great. I could not get to zero movement with any of the other tips that have been suggested here.

I have zbars, and used a piece of garden hose where the clamp is, all good so far!

Pins work, as long as you got the bars where you know you will want them.

I have used little pieces of an inner tube for shims on bikes for decades, always solved the slipping problem.

That makes sense. I've been hesitant to try any of the sandpaper / aluminum solutions people have offered because I don't understand how it would work.. rubber makes sense to me. I'll give that a shot.
