I don't need all of this wire harness/squirrel's nest but there's so many wires running in all directions that it's hard to figure out what I can eliminate
Does anybody have a color coded wire harness diagram they can share or experience makin there own wire harness for a bobber?
I have run/kill switch, high/low switch, and start button.
No speedo, TSM, signals or switches on bars. I have the bare minimum.
@carilliterate I know this thread is ancient history, but I was wondering if you are still around and might have a copy of the bare bones wiring diagram that you ended up using? If I am correct it sounds like you left the EFI in place? or did you end up running a Carb convert? I recently picked up a 2007 XL1200C EFI. I got this thing for a steal off a police auction but wasnt aware of the EFI nor the rubber mounted engine so I am no trying to figure out the simplest way to get this thing running as a bare bones chopper. I have done this many times on Carb'd bikes but the EFI system has soooo many parts and pieces and I am trying to avoid spending an arm and a leg on new wiring harness or carb conversion.
Also, did you just simply reuse the existing connectors for the ECM and just snip out the wires you didnt need? or did you end up rebuilding your own harness?
I suppose with these new Robots controlling everything I should get familiar with how to operate EFI but damn do I wish everything was still just carbureted.
