I used the same one Amy, and waited about 3 weeks for it to come from HD. Like you, I ordered it in primer and plan to paint it as soon as the weather warms up a bit. I will paint this one Mirage Orange and I will match the black stripe and carry it through from the front fender c/w the matching pinstripe from the 50th Anniversary paint theme. Here's a pic taken by my wife a few weeks ago just before I snuck out of the office for a little scoot.
uh oh (busted) now you can see where I made the signature picture from. lol
it took forever for me to decide on the colors. My last bike was a medium blue with silver ghost flames and bar and shield logo. I knoe I wanted something like that again, but wanted a more "out there" color. The orange I went with is a GM color from PPG. You'll see Chevy Cobalts and Avalanches in it.
I'll take some pictures. Right now it almost makes me cry looking at my bike out in the garage all stripped nekkid...
ORIGINAL: Amy
The dealership just called and said my part was in so I am hoping to decide on my colors and get it started asap. Of course I am sure Marks will be done first.....mines always last.
( Hint Hint, Mark)
Hey mine came in today too. As for budging in the paint line, just use your "feminine wiles"... LOL

Yep that's the one I got as well. My bike is black so I figured it will blend well with the bike and frame if I keep it all black. I wanted to add pink to the bike but I am honestly thinking about keeping everything black. It's starting to grow on me just as it is. Of course a few sparkles in the paint from glitter or metal flakes may be thrown in to give it a little "Amy" touch
I sure wish they made one for the 04-07 identical to the one for the 84-03. I think it flowed into the lines of the Sportster better.
It's funny you said that.... I was just wondering why it looks so odd. It's to pointed. It's needs to be rounded out a little. Once I pick mine up, I will have to see if Mark can shave it a little to shape it up. What's it made out of anyway?
It's molded ABS plastic and you won't be shaving it. If you tried that, you'd blow a hole through it in a hurry as it's only about 3/16" thick. Myself, I actually like this style the way it is, and feel the front radius picks up from the lines off the wheel as it turns upwards towards the frame. When I went looking for a chin spoiler, I looked at the corbin product, and a few others, and went with this one as it was the smallest and sleekest of the bunch in my view.

You could probably have Mark to add some fiberglass to the inside to thicken it up, the he could do a little shaping. I am sure he knows this.

I guess if you wanted to go that far you very well could. But then why not save the $150.00 on the harley part and just sculpt your own chin piece from high density foam, then use that to create a fibergalss mold so you can make the whole thing from fibreglass? Speaking from experience with fiberglass, this would be just as easy as trying to rework the existing point on the chin. Don't forget there is an existing support bracket tucked inside the chin that would make it a bit of a pain to try and work in there to build from the inside. Just my .02
