I got mine a leatherup.com 6 years ago. It's just a plain black leather jacket. Has kidney padding, extra leather on the elbows, zipper vents for those days that start cool and then get too warm to have the jacket.
It has served me very well. Well over 100,000 miles, and still in excellent condition. I think I paid $105 for the jacket.
With a slight lead going to the Brown and Tan, but a few comments saying that the design is better on it but not in brown have a look at this one - same design but black and grey.
Because I can't see the back I had to make my decision on just the pictures given. With that in mind, I chose the brown one.
You did a wise thing not going with the HD jacket. I have heard so many bad thing about the quality of the HD jackets and the one I had did not last that long at all.
If you are in the Denver area, check the jackets at the Army store on Broadway in Englewood. They have jackets that seem to be well made in several styles at decent prices. Don't remember any brown though.

I may try to check them out this weekend.
