While this makes me appreciate moving from NY to SC, I have to say unless the roads are just hazardous, I ride regardless, I just in vested in the gear to do it. Is it fun some days? no. Am I thankful to be riding anyway? Yeah, beats the hell out of a cage. I have heated jacket liner and glove liners. Along with some nice chaps, and throwing a shield on my 3/4 makes riding in the 30's no problem. Much colder and I'd probably get some sock liners or something but not too many days lower than that here I have to worry about. Now summer is going to me ridiculously hot I imagine...I'll ride anyway. I love it too much.
Seven months? Surely the sun peeps out sometimes in all that time. Riding on those nice days makes it worth it. Be ready for them. Harley are aircooled, maintance charger is all they truely need. Just like when you go without sex for 3 or 4 days..you can just go and go next chance....enjoy before you get too old.
If that picture is of your wife or girl friend, I know what I'd be riding when the weather is too bad to ride my Sporty!
I live in Chicago my last riding my bike was first week of December and i remember i rode my bike many time's with 40 degree early in the morning at 7am everyday going to work... i just winterized my bike after that. and one day i shook my head why i already winterized my bike too soon...just couple days ago i saw a dude riding his dyna harley that just past my house and just 3 day's ago i saw at leats 2 guys riding there bike an it was even 45 deg that day....i really feel so upset!
thanks all above for some encouragement and ideas.
I actually put it on E-bay last night and had an awful lot of interest in it.
But i felt sick thinking about selling it so withdrew it today so not selling,
thanks all
Plenty of people riding chops and bobs everyday in the uk with no fenders rain or shine so I say stop your ****** whining and ride it. Haha just kidding I couldn't resist. If its collecting dust sell it to someone who will ride it and go romp the off road. Good luck and have fun gettin dirty.
Just ride it bro, it's only water!
Like Billy Connelly says ' There's no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothes'. I've been out riding every day, now I'm developing webbed feet. Sure, it gets in your electrics and messes up the running, but keep going and it dries up. Get rugged up and ride that thing, you'll regret selling it soon enough.
