have to agree strongly that you dont want to mount it on the tank... when it does fall off, its gonna be a very dangerous moment while you are trying to navigate traffic while looking down at the ground where your gps has been smashed against the pavement! or even if its saved by the cord, its still down and you are looking down there instead of where the traffic is. please move it to a better mount- we care about our brothers!

Thumbs up

ev0lution7, that's a good place to mount it. My Glide mount is in a similar position and Mrs B can read it as well, so she can give me tips over the intercom, when traffic is busy. We navigate together!

My goal is to get the Bluetooth module for my Nolan helmet and have the directions (audio) in the helmet so I don't have to look at it as much!

Theoretically we have that, courtesy our Schuberth intercoms, but I haven't achieved nirvana with it yet.....

I'm an analogue type, rather than digital!

Be careful what you buy for a headset.
Your Nuvi is an automotive GPS and the Bluetooth function in the automotive type units is not designed to interface (pair) with your typical motorcycle helmet BT systems.

The BT function in a motorcycle (Garmin Zumo) GPS functions differently.

the new Nolan BT system has a FM radio function and the Garmin Nuvi 750 has a FM transmitter so i was thinking of using the FM function to get turn by turn.

That should work fine as long as you are solo or don't use the Nolan intercom. With this configuration, the intercom and/or phone will have priority over the GPS.

In a regular motorcycle setup, the GPS has priority over everything else.

I'd like to get a GPS with a headphone jack. I don't need one with BT since I won't use the phone while I'm riding and don't have a real need for an intercom. I'd want to use an IEM. I'm used to the Magellan interface.

Cool Here is the 12V system on my handlebar

Hopefully, a photo of the 12V plug will appear. I also, duhhhh, checked Magellan for a handle bar mount and they do not make one for my 1700. So got to modify something. Magellan has auto adjust for lighting conditions. I did not have any issues with glare, was really easy to see.
