Default 2002 883C Transmission Issue

My wife's Sporty has developed an odd issue with her transmission. On occasion, but not always, when she or I put the transmission into 1st gear, the gearbox sounds and feels like it goes into gear with no problem. However, when you let out the clutch, it feels like it slips into gear before moving. It nevers slips out of gear, and it happens in no other gear. It makes no difference if the transmission is warm or cold. We always work the gear lever a couple of times as we come to a stop to ensure it is in first.

I have changed the transmission fluid, adjusted the clutch, and adjusted the primary chain tension, but it continues to do it occasionally.

Anyone have any ideas of what I can try next?

Mine experiences this too. It is the shifter dogs getting worn down and not fully engaging. They suddenly jump in to gear once they get moving due to their design. Nothing you can do about it unless you want to pull the tranny and swap the dogs out for new pieces.
