Hello to all, just got a 2009 nightster and need a back tail/turn/running light bulb. Is there a bulb available from a auto store (autozone, NAPA, etc) that will work in the nightster? Also looking for a video of how to change the transmission oil...can't seem to find one on U-Tube.
So far love the bike but too cold to do much riding. Rode it home today in 26 deg weather. Coldest ride I've had in years. Going 60mph in that kind of weather makes your eyes freeze :-)
One recommendation, instead of replacing w/filament bulb, might be a good time to mod rear bulbs with something brighter (i.e. LED). Take a look at Custom Dynamics products...you can NEVER have enough rear illumination, for safety. Especially with the stock 2-bulb rear HD lights.
I picked up the service manual when I got my Iron. It has helped me with everything from changing the oil to upgrading the 883 to 1250. its worth the money for sure.
Glad you ordered the sevice manual. One more thing that helps first timers and professionals is a tq wrench. Ive seen it way to many times guys that don't tq things back and they loose the part or over tighten causing headaches. It's a tool you can always use on your bike.
