Anyone use torque cones for their exhaust? I was thinking about getting some drag pipes so I was going to get the torque cones. What's your experiences with them?
I am using handmade lollipops at the end of the drag pipes. I have gained back some of the loss in the mid range. Some say lollipops may be similar or better to cones but no personal experience.
I'm using Torque Cones and DK Custom's Thunder Torque Inserts. I put torque cones in when I took the baffles out of the SE II slip ons. It was too loud and really messed with my hearing. I put the TTI(s) in and they gave the bike a richer, deeper sound. Performance is great, Sporty sounds awsome and my ears don't ring for 3 days after I ride the bike.
I've got BCT QQ's. They are a cone welded onto the well known BCT baffles. I'm very satisfied. Just a tad quieter than open drag pipes but a little deeper and with correct backpressure.
A 1/4" bolt threw the end of the drag pipes will do the same thing. I'm not a fan of tq cones or anything like that. A dyno sheet with and without would tell the tale.
