I am looking for a 883 for my wife, budget is an issue so I have to watch what I am looking at.
I am not debating 883 vs 1200. I am looking for a 883, plain and simple.
2000 883 XLH. Seems pretty standard.
35K miles, real clean, 2 into 1 exhaust, no other apparent mods other then little pretty add ons.
Sounds good, no apparent drips or smoking.
Price is $3200 (cant seem to do to much better in Northern IL or Southern WI.
I know there are plenty of solid mounts out there, but having owned Harleys since the 70s I just never could get to like Sportys enough to buy one - until the rubber mounts came along. Chalk n cheese IMHO.
The price really depends on where you live. In my area, that is a smokin price.
I wouldn't be too concerned about a rigid mount. I ride a rubber mount, I've ridden my buddy's '96, there is a difference but you get used to it pretty quick.
It depends on if she wants some comfort. if she's been riding 2up with you a solid mount is going to rattle her fillings. That's about as raw as a sporty will get. You might want to get her out on the two different one, solid vs rubber, and let her decide then look into a purchase.
Always remember an asking price is just that an asking price, I would go with $2800.00 in hand look at the bike then layout the cash and say that is all you have, the guy/gal might refuse it but then again they might take it as well, really depends how much they want it gone.
She doesn't have the option to test ride all the bikes. Its between this sporty and a 2004 Honda shadow 750. This would be her second bike, first one was a rebel 250.
Other kicker is, she has no clue... I mean not a damn clue she is getting a bike.
I would love to keep it that way.
I will figure something out.
7lazy... I need to come to you and get Florida prices. Nothing that low here unless I want to work on it.
3200 is what I got them down to
Maybe I will look some more at the over prices bikes. Craigslist, dealer, cycletrader, ebay... its the going prices from what I can tell.
