Shopping around for another sporty. Found a handful with t-headers..problem is they also have forwards (why god, why?) Question is there a diff between the t-header for forwards and mids? I know there's different part #'s but that doesn't mean a lot. I've seen softail ones mounted to dynas and evo ones mounted to twin cams so there's a lot of parity in their lineup. I'm definately gonna switch em to mids but don't wanna have to buy another pipe if I don't have to. Anyone went from forwards to mids on a sporty with the same thunder header?

 

It's been about 10 years ago or more but I had a 1993 sporty with after market forwards. Then I went to mids. Shouldn't be a huge problem. Maybe a little shimming or grinding but nothing big.

 

For the price of new thunderheader, I'd make it work. Heck, we even mounted a softail th up to my brothers sporty.

 

Thunderheaders work with mids or forwards it's the same model.
