Just thought I would post my opinion on the Screaming Eagle Slip-On's. The dealer had offered me them with a new purchase and I have been waiting for them to come in and get put on. In that time I read so many reviews knocking them all over the internet. All in all they sound really good! A complete improvement over stock. (Deeper, louder) By no means are they anything like a Vance & Hines full system, however, for a person looking for a sound increase without pissing off the whole neighborhood they are perfect! If someone was questioning them they are well worth $299.
I originally ordered the SE slip-ons but they were on back order longer than I had planned to wait. I ended up going with the Bassani slip-ons. Since sound is subjective to the listener I would love to hear them in person. My Bassani are very loud(compared to OEM), definitely not good for suburbia, and got a deep rumble as well. Congrats to you for getting what you want, in the end that's all that matters..
I have a pair of SE II's for sale that I just took off my 2003 Fatboy, if anyones interested PM me. Great shape will sell for $100 + shipping. They are shown in my avatar.
I have the SE Street Performance (50-state legal) slip ons on my bike. Anyone who says they are not loud either has bad hearing or enjoys REALLY LOUD exhaust and then these are not them.
I would not want louder (me personally). People hear me coming as they will turn to see the bike which they didn't do with stock exhaust. Good compromise between loud and really loud in my opinion.
