I think the Rouge is amazing, even though its kinda posery. Dont know if thats a word.
But its also form and function which outweighs the negative poseriness. I know thats a word.

I think this helmet would be my next helmet 95%.
5% would be for something cheap and cool but safe as well. Something that would I would get in a discount, like Lick's NovDot. (If only someone would organize a 2013 Spring Group Buy and could convince them to discount us some of their stuff, like their solo bags and helmets). WINK

Sorry, OFFTOPIC.

Thanks,

JBar

I added one of these to my helmet collection a while back:

...AGV Diesel Hi-Jack, "helicopter pilot" style helmet...

http://www.diesel.com/helmets/11-hj-gbm

Fits like a glove [which f's with my ear piercings though], with removeable & washable insert padding, quick one finger disconnect, and very easily replaceable hide away shields in dark and iridium mirror...and yes, it is DOT rated. Yet another choice...

Been wanting to get the green version of that for a while now. How is it going down the road?

If you're talking to me Rog, it's not much different than a 3/4 helmet. The visor, being a ways off your face, still requires you to use glasses or your eyes tear up.

I usually wear a 1/2 helmet, and not having worn a 3/4 since I had my go-kart at age 13 [counting the years ago...yikes, nevermind] the first thing I noticed was the obvious lack of wind going past my ears, oh, and my exhaust actually sounded louder!

What sold me about it was the shape...the copter pilot design is practically on it's own outside of a couple other "fighter pilot" types that sport the outside "flash protector" type visors, such as the:

OSBE "Tornado"

Anyway, the AGV Diesel "Hi-Jack" seems a little big by virtue of the ear protrusions but no more cumbersome than a full face helmet. The removeable padding is comfortable, well thought out, and quality made. I think I paid a little over $200 or so for it shipped free from Revzilla. It comes stock with the clear visor and a really nice storage bag that doubles as a tote. The dark and iridium visors run $35.95 to $45.95 respectively.

I seem to do ok with the 1/2 helmets as far as my ears go, but sometimes I do wear a bandana from the nose down to lessen the flying dirt and bug impacts.

Truth be told, I actually really really really liked the green Hi-Jack the best! But since I have the silver Iron I though it would have looked odd - so I went with the black/grey instead...but with the color of your bike? Holy smokes the green looks to be an almost perfect match!!

After work today I decided to don it, and did so until I started getting pelted with rain...that and my hips have been bothering me so today's ride was shortened rather drastically... 'Damn joints...sigh...

Make you sure you try on that Bell Rogue before you buy it, it's poorly designed, the muzzle will rest on the bridge of your nose. I read all the negative reaponses from this design flaw and tried it out for myself at our local RideNow Sports, sure enough, I wouldn't last 20 minutes wearing this awesome looking helmet. Real shame!

Just to add a twist. For halfy wearers. The Akura ak-88, best helmet i have ever owned. Sits as low as my novelty helmet even with a winter wool watch cap underneath. No mushroom head and the thing is so light you don't even know you are wearing it. I totally recommend this lid to everyone who has been wearing a novelty half all these years (as i did).
