Wife loves her Sporty but needed a new seat. She got a Mustang that fits her very well and is very comfortable. The only issue is it raised her seat height. She is now about half way to tip toes with the shocks in the lowest setting.
I know it is said that you can't lower a hugger, but ... There are some very talented folks on these forums and I bet someone has an idea or two.
What does she wear on her feet?! There are raised thick-soled boots available that will give her better footing. Her bike already has very low suspension, so try to avoid lowering it any more - get sneaky!
A further thought is to see if the edges of her seat get in the way of her legs reaching the ground. It may be possible to trim her seat back to improve things there as well. Won't affect the part she sits on. A local upholsterer can probably do that if you don't fancy trying yourselves.
I have one..and have looked into lowering it, and short of letting the air out of the tires...all you can really do is get a thinner seat (which will be harder on the ***)..
Cut a couple off the spring on the shock that will drop her down, I would suggest doing it one at a time, then reinstalling them and have her sit on it to get the right height. cheap way to fix the problem, just did it last weekend for a friend - worked out beautifully.
