Youtube can give you a pretty decent idea of what some pipes sound like. It's a whole lot better than me saying " my pipes sound awwsuuuummmee"
LOL! Really, just drill out the baffles on what you have to begin with...doesnt get any cheaper or easier and if you don't like it you have lost what...$20 for the inserts?
Hello all I just picked up a 2008 EFI 1200 Sportster custom and would like a little louder exhaust. Dealer says it would cost around 2 grand to do because of the EFI, tuning dyno etc, etc. Is there any muffler I can put on or maybe drill out the stock ones without going broke?

lol, I did not read the entire thread...just the post before what I posted.
Thanks!
Some folks like the sound, others not so much, it is really pretty deep, and with the TTI's there is a good bump in torque over the pipes before they are drilled out.
Even if you decide later to get different pipes, you can pull the TTI's and put them in the new ones.
So I just picked up an 06 883 for my wife to ride. I have to admit after riding it home I may jump on it and rip around town from time to time. Anyway it is all stock and I need to swap out the exhaust. My wife says shes OK with the stock, but I need a little more Harley sound. Whats a good slip on that will give it a little more sound but not too obnoxious? I used to have SE II on my last Sporty but I cant seem to find those anymore. Any suggestions are appreciated.
Cycle Shacks are the old SEII's from what I hear on the XLForum. My dealer also told me that Cycle Shack used to make the SEII's for HD. I have the MXL-130T, "T" is for tapered. They also come in side-slash, slash-down and turnout.
