The Eagle
So this morning on my commute I spot what I initially thought was a hawk, but turned out to be a Bald Eagle coming off the river in my home town. He flew right over the highway I was coming down.
It was kind of a moment. Just and awesome specimen.

We have a couple Bald Eagles living in Denver's City Park. Pretty cool that they can exist in the urban environment. I've had the chance to see a Red Tail Hawk and Bald Eagle right next to each other, a Red Tail Hawk is a large majestic animal but next to a Bald Eagle it may as well be a chicken.
I saw a Golden Eagle a few weeks ago in Wyoming. We drove up and he took off and we both knew it was no hawk. Huge bird and you got the feeling he was observing us. Just flying around above the truck watching.
I find birds of prey highly interesting.

I live 1 block form the clackamas river in gladstone oregon and have the privilege of observing several bald eagles looking for prey (rats, mice, cats, small dogs). Everytime I see them its a very good to be alive moment, and I also feel that I am being watched and sized up for their plesure. Also the peregrine falcons that have nests in the trees close by are, every bit as beautiful, but not quite as majestic as the eagles.

This is a live feed from near our home on the north coast of California. The camera was placed near the favorite nest of a mated pair of bald eagles who have produced at least six litters there.
We have been watching since the parents brooded on the eggs about three months ago. The fledglings are now big enough to fly but they stay near Mom and Dad because rent is free and food is plentiful !
PS to put things in scale, the nest is about eight feet in diameter !
