I can only tell you what I do. I'd replace the filter. For the price of a complete oil change you'll have a little piece of mind. But I might be excessive. Who knows? It certainly can't hurt.

As for using it in the gas tank? I add it to a tank a few times a year. I add Seafoam to keep things in order.

You may be able to clean it off with some chrome cleaner, or just grip the spring (get a stronger member of your team if necessary!) and turn it on the shock, so you can't see the rust.

Agreed. And Filters are not that expensive, so I'll just pick up 2

Although the list looks long, it's really not that much to do. IMHO the toughest part will be bleeding the brakes after the flush. While you're replacing the brake fluid you'll want to cover up all the painted surfaces as brake fluid isn't very paint friendly.

In all, this list can be knocked out in a day.

Yeah, that is about what I figured. Time is my biggest enemy cause I just have none. Hence why it is end of July and I'm finally looking at doing it So hopefully I can carve out a weekend to just get it done, along with a nice wash.

After this I have a few things (non-maintenance) I want
• New floor board/pegs
• Replace the locks on my saddle bags since they are cracking
• New battery cover, since mine no longer latches and love to fall off while riding.

BUT first it must be a happy bike Thanks everyone again!

Use a ziptie to keep that battery cover in place. It took me ruining 2 of them to finally figure that out. lol

Ride safe.
