I guess it's all a matter of perspective. I know that a motorcycle is higher maintenance than a car. I accept that. I know stuff happens. I accept that.

I changed my entire suspension and that didn't bother me at all. It's a Sportster. Not a Road King. I changed the rocker gaskets. No big deal, they took a couple of hours. I replaced the regulator. That took 15 minutes.

I just think of those things as part of ownership. Read through the other branded forums and you'll see every brand and model will have some issue here and there. Motorcycles vibrate and go through different stresses than a car does. Plus they're more exposed to the elements.

This isn't the 70s when a Harley was poorly made. Today's Harley is as well made and has as many defects as any other brand.

If you like to ride, but hate HD, then trade your Nightster on a brand you trust. Life's too short to be unhappy. Honda makes fine bikes. I'm sure they'd love to see you.

Good luck

That's pretty harsh, what up with the class warfare, homey?

Let's see some shots of your crib, yachts, and estates, shall we?

I think your disappointment is a result of some ignorant high expectations about Investments.

Autos are tools, a tool to get me to and from work.
Motorcycles are toys, to have fun with.
Houses, Stocks, Bonds are investments, CD's for you poor people.

People that honestly think, you can buy a bike, add chrome to it, ride it for a 1000 miles and then sell it and break even are High on something.
There's someone like you in every crowd. The one who attempts to belittle another. I suppose investment isn't the proper term but most people can comprehend my statement. Also I'm not one of "those" people. That should be obvious by my statement. Accessories do not add resale value, especially to bike. You always need to take the previous owner's goofy **** off so you can put your goofy **** on, lol. I am fully aware what true investments are.

Also I'm glad to hear from others who have had many years of good service on their bike.

Friend of mine has a sport bike of some sort he hasn't ridden all summer cuz he can't afford the parts he needs to get it running and keep it running.
Sorry for your troubles man, I don't wish that on anyone, but don't damn the whole breed cuz of one bad apple.
Plenty of guys in here love their Sportsters.

Put it on the curb with a free sign on it, someone will take it.

P.S. What's your address?

Are you sure you brought your point across? Maybe next time choose a bigger font.
To ease the pain the nice people of Harley Davidson have carefully selected your new Honda, one that matches your tone of voice. Have fun with it!

I think your right..........its just your time. Unfortunately it happend with a sportster. Ive read thousands and thousands of sportster posts here and on other forums over the last few years, you may be the 3rd that Ive read that has had your experience. Lemons are out there and you drew the short straw. I feel the same way about chevys. Ive owned 2 in my life and they were both the biggest pieces of crap I ever owned. And yet, there are millions of happy chevy owners out there and Im sure many of them feel the same way about Fords

I own 2 sportys, my son owns another. Many thousands of miles between them. The only time a wrench has touched them is for mods or routine maintenance. So I would say yours is the exception..........not the rule.
