Default handlebars?

i have an 07' sporty 1200C... i like the style of my current handle bars BUT would really like if they were back about 2-3 inches. i dont want to put an even taller riser on there. any suggestions to types of bars i might like? what are the bars i currently have? i like the way they sweep out, just want the rise in the bar longer so i can relax on longer rides.

Bo, I'm interested in any replies you might get to this question. I posted a similar message a couple of months ago and haven't had many responses. I'd like the controls on my '05 XL 1200 C a bit closer myself.I'm also looking for anyone who may have disassembled the bullet turn signal light in order to shorten the wire internally.

If you like the bars why not get a reach seat? Instead of bringing the bars back it will move you forward. Personally I was never a big fan of the factory bars, but then again I like 10-12 inch apes on the sporties. The reach seat moves you down and forward which will lower your center of gravity, put you closer to the foot and hand controls and will be easier than new bars. And quite possibly cheaper too if you have to change lines, cables and wires when you swap bars.

Go check out the Flanders bars: http://www.sideroadcycles.com/Americ...Beach_BIG.htmlThe flat track in H5 or J5 will give you about the same rise but a little more width and much more pull back than the stock bars. I considered these when I looked at changing out my bars and came real close to ordereing them but the look of mini-apes won out for me. You will need to change to a little longer cables (maybe not all but definitely the brake line).
You could also get the Harley pullback bars for sportsters which will give you about 1.5-2" more pullback the only thing I did not like about them is they're pre-punched forwiring clips and I wanted to run my wires internal and did not like the leftover holes showing.

Good luck.....

im 6' tall, i need all the length i can get so my knees arent in my chest. further back bars would greatly help. i saw some that might do the trick. i see the bars off stock bikes (dyna, softail, etc...) that i like. guess theyre kinda like mini apes...

Hey Bryan,

The ones I'm running are supposedly stock repl. for 93-up Dyna wide glide (mini-apes) The softail bars are a little different in the way they pull back.
