I ride up to the first snowfall in Ohio.. I don't use a windshield. So as I head to work everyday near 40F or lower I wear a el cheapo Wal-Mart baklava under my FF Scorpion helmet. My feeling on helmets is FF or nothing. I also wear chaps in the AM ride as well.
Amazingly a 10 mile ride at 40F with simple unlined deer skinned gloves offers no finger numbing experience.
I have an EX0-100 half that I never wear but I have a glow in the dark neoprene skull facemask that would go well with a 1/2 or 3/4. It still wont be as comfy as an out of the wind FF helmet. I use it the mask mostly for snow removal in the winter with my snow blower.
