I use my tender when its really cold and I'm not taking the bike out regularly, other than that I make sure I ride longer than 30 minutes each time its fired up ..... in fact this thread just reminded me to plug mine in. Bike has been idle in the garage about two weeks now.

She's an 07 with the original battery.

One reason I use the Tender+ is that my bake has the alarm on it and there is nothing harder on a batter than a perasitic loss or partial discharge. Actually they amount to the same thing.

Can you still use the tender while the security system is hooked up? The system is always using some battery power.

One thing you do not want to do.

Place the tender on the seat while it's working. Don't ask me how I know.

Ghessss a Man does some dumb things every now and then.
