Default Chrome oil tank cover, one bolt???

I just received the chrome oil tank cover for my 2001 Custom. I wanted to check in with you guys to be clear. It looks as if the thing is held on with nothing more than one bolt, a hook on the left side and some two way sticky tape? Is this the case or am I missing something? Do these actually stay on given all the heat a tank radiates? Is rattling an issue? I want to make sure I am OK with this, or is an actual chrome tank the only right way to do this?
Thanks.

yep mine is the same way. the oil cap holds it down quite a bit. and you will get some rattling but not much. i would just stick with the cover

Thanks super. I took everything out of the package and looked at the setup. I was surprised to see that the foam pads I "thought" were two way tape, are nothing more than stick on bumpers that adhere to the inside of the cover to prevent rattling. So yeah, that's all there is holding this cover on. One bolt, a hook and the oil cap. Its a pretty old design, so it must work better than it appears. Besides, since its the last chrome part needed to complete my project, I'm just excited to get it on. Can't wait for the rain to stop so I can get some nice pictures. I'm a picture ***** and want to show off her new look!
