Bought a 2008 Sportster but have a challenge with standard seat because of my height, 6'2". Need to find a new seat option that would eliminate me sitting on the up slope of the seat.
Ideas and solutions are appreciated.
Check out the mustang cyclone solo seat. I'm about the same height as you and have done quite a bit of research on different seats. I haven't bought one yet but you may look at a that as one of your options, a barebones from LaPera might be an option as well. I'll pay close attention to this thread to see what other folks have to say as well
Mine is a 2002 sportster, I also am over 6ft. I have a Bare bones Lepera Part # LT006 .
You can find them on Ebay for $150+
I have foward controls, which helps the comfort of riding.
I called Lepera, ( talked to Crystal) about the seat I have now. since the 200 tire conversion is 2 inches wider, I need to widen it.
They have program which you buy a seat pan, rework it for your needs and they will foam it and cover for a fair price above list.
I see why seat is not to your liking. posted a pic of a2008
,
I'll post more up to date pics tomorrow. The 200 tire conversion is done.
I'm 6'1" and tilting the stock handle bars up as far as they will go comfortably gave
me about another 3" reach.
I would like to put straight risers on and get rid of the pull back riser, for another few inches. Hope this also helps.
I'm 6 feet and had the same issue when I bought my 2009 Sportster. Added longer rear shocks and a wide touring Mustang seat (with the passenger pillion for 2-up riding). Bike is perfect now. Even stayed with the mids (as I like the extra sense of control that come with the mids for cornering, bumps, etc.).
