RE: Just bought my first Harley, have a few questions.
I like my stock bars. You have mini apes on yours. I could be wrong!! Very cool. Going back to stock or something simular requires no mods. I'm not a fan of drag bars.
RE: Just bought my first Harley, have a few questions.
Do you have a better shot of your bars Logan80? They do look kind of uncomfortable and they don't look like mini apes to me. As far asI know all the 04 and up Sportsters came with the same bars stock except for the Lows which have a little more pullback.
RE: Just bought my first Harley, have a few questions.
I will have to change cables back to stock ones I'm sure, as the ones I have now are extended for the buckhorn style bars I have. Here is a better pic.
RE: Just bought my first Harley, have a few questions.
Now I can see it better, it isn't mini ape, it is a buckhorn handlebar. You should be able to keep the cables if you go for similar height mini ape. If you want to go dragbar, you might have to change all the cables.
RE: Just bought my first Harley, have a few questions.
So the buckhorns are turned in more towards the rider unlike the mini apes which turn more outwardly?
The buckhorns look kind of awkward and uncomfortable.
RE: Just bought my first Harley, have a few questions.
That's what I had assumed. I'll just replace with stock cables though, instead of the stainless braided ones, unless I find stainless ones cheap on eBay or something.
Learning a lot here, just bought it Saturday, got a hell of a deal from the dealership, just need to change some things to make it mine...
