Default Front End Rake

Hey all! Been a reader of the forums for a long time but finally decided to take the plunge and join up.

So just bought a 110th Anniversary 1200 Sportster and I'm trying to figure out how to get some stuff done to it. I want to put a slight front end rake on it, enough to give it a more aggressive look but still keeping it looking stock. Whats the best way to do this? Can this be accomplished with a 5 degree raked tree bought off of ebay or is it wiser to buy an entire kit for over $1000? I will be keeping the tubes stock, so nothing over sized or any of that rubbish.

What have you all found is the best way to go? I appreciate the help!

Wow I love that price haha. I feel like 3 degrees wouldn't be noticeable though. I'm feeling anywhere between 5 and 9 would be ideal.

Default rake

I had my neck raked to 35 and 3 degree trees added to keep the rake/trail stock. If you just rake the front end your bike could become very unstable at low and high speeds, not a very good idea. A complete kit is advisable if going over 3 degrees after that steering becomes to light and the front of the bike will actually lift when turning. Keep it safe and yes you will need longer fork tubes or the front end will lower down too much.

So going with the expensive full kit is the better way to go?

Yea I was looking at the 9 degree kit from that site! It was 1500 bucks though so I wanted to make sure that was the way to go. Anything to say about it?

Save your money boss, not ragging on the raked trees but I'd only run em on more drastic rakes to get the trail back in spec,if I was you I'd chop the neck and get the desired rake that way, Imo it looks a little better

I spent maybe $200 bucks to rake it + longer fork tubes($170 from forks by frank) so even then you're still well below what you'd spend on the trees alone
