Back in the day. 60's and 70's the Harleys were smaller bikes. Now we are in the super sized mode with all the yamers, Hondas and Kawi's we became in the supersized mode from the 80's to current. Their are 1800's plus! Frigging car motors in bikes. This is just insane. Crotch rockets that weigh 300 lbs that have 1400cc motors. What's with all the insanity?
A friend of mine has a 1800 honda vmax. He invited me to ride with his vmax club.I was hesitant to ride with metric riders but said what the hell.I met his club buddies and got comments right away that a 1200 is to small.I guess it was there way to put my Harley down.Obviously a bigger power plant will have more power but 1800 seems a little extreme.I should ride with them within the next few weeks Ill let ya know if my little 1200 can keep up with them.
I think with all the technology we have today, everyone is in sensory overload. It is becoming harder and harder to get someone's attention, and keep it. That, coupled with the need to outdo what has been done before adds to the mayhem. Hence, all the extreme sports are getting more extreme. IMHO.
My dumb son just jumped on that same band wagon. I thought he was going to buy a VRod, but instead, he bought some Honda 1000cc crotch rocket. I AM AGAINST IT! That makes two MC for a 19 year old! A 750 Honda cruiser of some sort and now this rocket bike.
I am not real happy about the whole thing, but I have no say in it because he is totally independent and does what ever the HE!! he wants to do.
