as a newbie myself, i am pretty sure is because is mainly what the dealer offers, it's convenient, you're there already, and for the people who do have the money they might as well just put it in there since you don't have to really worry about looking for parts, doing the research, etc...

I guess you answered the question. But you didn't justify it.

FYI, there is just one product of SE that is worth your money - cams. And this is because you cannot buy these cams from Andrews (yes they make them but SE has the exclusive right to sell them).

I think also the only exhaust system for the '14 iron are the short shots from SE, i have the bike and want a black exhaust on it, but i don't want them, seems like everyone with an iron has them, so if you could give me any suggestions, it will be greatly appreciated!

Nice bike! Looks good! In PEI and got a 2010 Iron. Great bike, you won't be disappointed!

Iron is the best looking bike HD makes, it's the back to basics, barebones motorcycle. It's about riding not sitting on a couch.

Keep us posted on the changes you make!

I'm from more of the "If you wanted a 1200, then why didn't you just BUY one?" school of thought, and have wondered why people go with the stealership items over what's available on the outside...I suppose to some it's just "easier" to go for the factory stuff without having to go through the education stage, the hassle of deciding on each individual part, then picking out a manufacturer, followed by cross referencing to find out if everything will work together, and lastly doing the install and break-in. Does a stealership upgrade like this indicate more money than brains? I dunno... LOL!

All that being said, if'n I had the inkling to upgrade my 883 I would surely do it myself with a Hammer 1250 kit, and keep my beloved Power Vision tuner, K&N intake, Khrome Werks mooflers and call it a day. I'd be ahead of the game over any HD part. That and the SE stuff just never did anything for me...like you, I've found their offerings to be [in some instances WAY] overpriced and common, and althought there's nothing wrong with it, it's an easy way out. A point to some, absolutely meaningless to others.

But hey wait a minute...you mean to tell me that you don't have every Willie G. Skull item hanging off your scooter? Shame on you!!

Meh, it ain't our motor sickle, sooooo...what-a-we-care anyway?! Whatever floats their boat! Let'm ride into the sunset on their dream machine...
