Thanks for the info. The light I bought didn't come with the harness to plug in. I wonder if I could just use the left light wires and splice into them. Seems logical, right?
here is the wiring diagram for a 2013 883. Hopefully it will help.
V is left turn feed
BN is right turn feed
BK is ground
RY is the brake light feed
OW is power
So you should splice the Bk for ground, RY for the brake light, and OW for main power. I would find the main harness that goes to the two taillights and splice off the back of it.
i got my chinese knockoff installed! my fender isnt factory rounded cause of the chop, but its a nice quality light for under $50. took a week to get to me, so fast shipping from asia. Nice bright LEDs too.
I dont have it hooked up as a running light, brake only. i tried gettig pics of the light on, but its too bright for my camera. here's a rear end pic.
you get the light, and some sticky tape. easy install.
It was pretty easy. I stripped the insulation off of the wires before the connector for the left signal. I can take a look tonight at which wires I connected to if you're interested in putting one of these on. The running and brake lights work as they should.
