Hello fellow riders,
I want to start off by saying I freakin love my bike, it's a 2003 100 year anniversary 883 black sporty with 1500 miles. I just bought it a few weeks ago and WOW, what a dream. I just just turned 33 a few weeks ago and have been riding bikes since I was about 7, then got into street bikes at about 17. I have owned several bikes, all foreign bikes and I enjoyed them all very much. I look at it is as long as my face is in the wind who gives a sh*t. But I do have to tell you that I have never experienced anything like this baby, whew. I have it in the shop now getting a maint done, and cant wait to get it back. I park it in my living room, so I can keep an eye on it . But I do want to say that I have been reading your post the last several days and found a lot of great info, and what seem's to be a great bunch of guys\gals I love the brotherhood\sisterhood of bikers, we all need to look out for each other. I would like to know If someone can help me with one thing though. I have seen a few post on this topic but wasent able to follow it fully. I would like to know if someone can tell me step by step how to remove or open thebaffles? The guy I bought it from said he took a long nail and poked a hole in the baffles. The bike has a nice rumble, but Im looking for more, I dont have the money to purchase new pipes and to tell you the truth I really like the look of the stock pipes, their clean and narrow. So if someone can tell me how to get more tone w\o taking the pipes off and making it safe w\o damaging anything I would very much appreciate it. Also I live in Denver, one of the greatest places to own a bike, but dont have any riding buddies out here. Anyone from the area know any meets or anyone looking for a riding buddy? If not I got no probs riding alone. Keep it on 2 wheels

Thanks, Bone

Hello Bone and Welcome. Yea, I'll throw ya a bone. j/k.

Your right, Denver is very biker friendly, kind of surprising due to harsh winters and mile high stuff. My Son and Sister live there and ride, there are lots of MC clubs. The dealers and internet are the best places look for a club or two. I know the Patriot Guard Riders have a club there, a areaHOG chapter, Rocky Mountain MC club, and many others.

The exhaust question is frequently asked here abouts, click the search tab an type in baffle removal. Tons of threads will show up to explain this DIY project. I'll note it was 6 years ago I did mine and a little rusty on the step-by-step thing. You will need a 1-1/2" hole saw with an extension to drill out the welds, not to difficult (remember that much).

hey tplyonsdid you get the 883L. That was the bike I was looking at before I bought the 100 year 883. Love the look of the 88l, sat on the 1200l, and its no comparison to the 883. The 883 was much more comfortable to me.

Congratulations. Go to your local dealer. Inquire into joining national level HOG. Once you belong to national you can join your local chapter and you will have all the riding buddies you want. Plus as stated above there are others.

I ended up going with an 883C. Just low enough that I could flatfoot it comfortably, and I'm diggin' the forward controls.

Good choice, trying to save my pennies for the forward controls as well. What state so you ride in?

HOBOKIN? I always thought about taking a ride to the east coast, but it would be a long ride alone. But it would be cool to take a trip the apple and and pound some concrete
