these Iron Bags are pricey new and big plus signals need relocated, but my wife had to have them. I finally found hers on ebay for about $700 less than new,
are these bags installed backwards? Looks like they are in order to keep from moving the turn signals?
Yeah they sure are, shes using the shock cutout to clear the signals.......haha. Guess it works though. I got the same bags hard mounted.....................the correct way.
I installed ***** n Max LARGE slant throw overs for around 250. They call them large but once I put my rain gear, chaps, lunch bag and a few odds and ends both are packed for this daily rider. I wish mine were larger sometimes
I just got a set of Willie and Max bags (smaller ones, set up for higher exhaust - I think the model name is 'high pipes' or similar). I got mine used, in pristine condition, for about half price - but they run $180 new.
They are pretty small, but a nice upgrade from no bags, for daily use. I'm currently running them with the yoke under the seat, and zip tied to the frame in front and turn signal (in stock location) in the back. They sit fairly far forward for bags - so not sure how it's gonna work out for the wifey on the back - she's gonna lose some leg movement for sure, but she can reach the pegs. I don't have saddle bag supports, but they seem to be ok without them - the rear shock runs roughly centered front to back behind them. No shock cutouts on them.
less than $100- from leatherup.com - have had these bags for several years now... large throw over bags, but I cut out the throw over part and installed them with easy brackets (slip on and off with a keyed lock)- they are vinyl but look leather. I don't care either cause they are nice and water proof- for the price I can just replace them if they ever stop looking new!
