Just slapped the last pieces on it. It is finally street ready. And now the transformation:
How it arrived. 2009 XLC with 51 miles. The original owner rode it home from dealer and just let it sit for the next 4.5 years.
Slowly stripping it down and choosing the path I'll take.
And NOW all buttoned up ready for the road. Its about to rain so the paint isn't popping as much as it will. It is silver metallic color changing flake and black lace print with gold leafing.
All in all, Im pretty satisfied with it. It is the first time I have torn a bike all the way down and rebuilt it including doing the paint. Feels good to know I did it all.
Nice work but that seat looks like a ball buster! Photos don't do justice to the paint. I did most of the work on my bike. Not everyone has the skill or desire but it makes you feel good when you put a little blood and sweat in a project. Nice work!
