Changing slip on mufflers
I have an 05 1200C with Cycle Shack turn out slip on mufflers. I am looking for a slip on with a deeper tone. What slip on muffler would five me a nice deep tone at idol and some good sound when I open it up? I have only had the Cycle shacks on for a couple hunderd miles and was wondeging if the will get deeper tone the longer I run them.

Hey, I have the same mufflers on my 07 with 1400 miles on them, they don't change. I have heard the SE's on your year sporty and they have that sound you seem to be lookin for. I think Cycle Shack makes the same muffler only without the SE logo.

i have an '05 883c with cycleshacks also and NO the sound will not get deeper. I am also looking to changing my exhaust (ordered a 1250 conversion kit), seems to me like the vance and hines 2 into 1 is the way to go. Not exactly sure how they are going to sound, but its one of the best for performance which is what i'm looking for now. Cycleshacks were something quick and cheap i threw on a week after i got my bike, to tell you the truth i think i lost some power.

vance and hines straight shot slipons are deep, loud, and affordable. they look fantastic as well.
best bang for the buck and will achieve the sound you're looking for. Of course, I am biased as I have a pair. I love them.

The Cycle Shacks will mellow out and get a deeper tone once you get some carbon build up. I'm not sure how many miles that takes. I installed mine last Summer, and then headed out for a 4 day 1,200 mile bike ride. Somewhere along the way, they mellowed out.
