Default Seat problems!

I have a 2013 sportster 72. I ride aggressive and wanted to have a high backed seat. I figured I would buy a used one to try it out. I purchased a seat off of ebay, its the badlander style and is from a 2004-2007 sporty. Now I know most seats 2004 and up will fit on a sportster but this doesnt fit well. The front bar was modified for my tank and the whole underside carpeted. On my stock seat I have the front tab that slides in, A post in the bottom of the seat and the rear bolt. The only actual mounting point on this seat is the rear bolt now. Just wondering if anyone else has done this or if this seat in its original form had another mounting point. THANKS!

In the last pic it does look like it has a front tab. The tab and rear screw is all you need. My mustang seat has a cutout for the center post but it doesnt do anything, its just a cutout for clearance.

my front tab doesn't attach to anything. It just kind of sits under the tank with no real mount. What is yours like?

That front tab plus the peg in the middle of the seat hold it in place. The tab in the back plus the screw secure it.

The seat kind of wiggles because the front tab just sits up front and there is no post to hole to use to hold it in place.

Maybe you could shim the front tab?

....
Nope, tab on a 2007 is a different length than an 04 and won't fit. Also has a different cutout in the pan to clear a module that isn't there on an 04, so you can't use an 04 seat on an 07, either. I wouldn't be surprised if there were over 100 different and incompatible seats on Harleys.
