Does anyone know of any aftermarket bars that you can use with the stock cables and hoses?
I'm looking for a more relaxed position. I'm using forward controls and a Mustang vintage solo seat.
I've got an 06 1200C myself and while I went with changing my risers, bars and cables (I went with mini-aper on a 2" risers) I can tell you that when I was looking at differnt bars and their hgt./pull back I found that pretty much any choice would require at least a new brake line but anything taller or more pullback required new cables and extending wiring (not much slck built into the stock stuff). For many of the bars sold by Bikers Choice, Drag Spec., Custom Chrome and such http://www.discountcycleparts.com/xc...tomer/home.phpis a good cheap source for stuff. My Kromewerks wide glide apes were only $38 from them.
thanks for the help. these look great considering the money saved
Your welcome. These bars are just right for those of us looking for a bit more
comfort. They are just high enough that you dont need to replace the cables
or extend the wiring, there is just enough stuffed under the tank to make it safely,
but not so high as to look out of place on the bike. I would however recommend
you measure and replace the brake line with a longer one. I have the capability
to make my own so I didnt have to buy one but most folks dont have the means to make one.
If you go on ebay there's a lot of bars available. I bought 30" drag bars with a slight pullback for $20. New chrome rail grips too. $15. You just need to look closely. Good Luck!
