CHANGING RISER HEIGHT
Has anyone changed the riser heights for there bike?
I have a an XL 50, which is similar to the roadster modelas far as the risers are concered,,,, our setup is different than the 1200c...
I think we have 1 inch stock height....
I'm looking to increase the risers just a bit, in order to bring them up and back just a bit.... I was gonna order a 2-1/2 inch straight riser if i can find it, or 3 inch or so....
If anyone has changed theres, to a similar height..... My question is this....
do you have to change the brake line length or any other calbes for that matter...

Well, if you are going to raise it up by 1 1/2 to 2", most likely the cables will be pulling a bit or slightly shorter, not sure. I have 6" riser and dragbar, I can keep the stock cables and brake hose because the bar is sitting at about the same height as my old handlebar and low riser. You have to measure how much extra cable length you have and go from there.
I put 4 inch straight riserson my 1200R anddid not change any wires, cables or brake lines. It made a big difference in riding comfort for me. It brought the bars up and back enough so I had a slight behind at the elbows. My hands used to go numb on long rides but with new set up no problems.
