Default Tank Range

I would be grateful if any owners of the Sportster S can confirm the approximate range until the fuel light comes on. I think the pre launch expectations were about 100-120 miles when riding normally but I watched a video where the owner claims 60 miles in sport mode before the light comes on and 85 miles in normal mode. Is this about right?

Thanks in advance.

Yep, that's exactly what I got. I filled up right when my gas light came on and it took 2.2 gallons to fill.

Thanks,
Tom

100 miles is about it before the light comes on. Then again I’m in break-in so it could be worse. Lol

Hopefully they come out with a version with a larger tank. I have a 100 mile round trip commute, I like room to spare as I still need a few more mile to get fuel without going out of my way.

I have a similar commute (about 90 miles) and this was the same thing that scratched the Scout off my list a few years ago. Who wants to stop for gas every morning as part of their commute?

In sport mode my light comes on around 85-90 miles and it takes around 2.1 -2.2 gallons to fill. One day I'm going to strap a Rotopax gas can on the back and ride until it's empty. What aggravates me is once the gas light is on, you can't cycle the info screen for navigation, etc.

Have you pressed the up arrow when the light turns on? It clears the message so you can scroll between screens.
