Default Fuel issues

I have a 2008 1200 Sportster. Feels like it's running out of gas, at low speeds. Under 40 mph. Tried everything I can think of. Any help/ideas??

This is the wrong section of the forum, but have you checked through your carb? You might have a worn diaphragm, debris in a jet, vacuum leak or a number of other things wrong. What performance mods have been done and has the carb been adjust since making them?

Try cracking open your gas cap. Vent may be going bad causing vacuum lock/issues.

2008 is fuel injected, so the carb instructions likely wouldn't be relevant. There are a lot of things that could cause a loss of power. When you say "tried everything I can think of", what does that include? Have you tested the fuel pump? Have you checked the spark/timing? I think a moderator should move this into the regular Sportster forums, as this likely won't get seen by people who can help you otherwise.

This the 1st time on this forum. Not sure where to go for advice. I've changed the air filter, sparkplugs, fuel injectors, fuel sending unit, (pump. filter, regulator)

This is the section on the forum you want then: https://www.hdforums.com/forum/sportster-models-10/

Did you determine that there were issues with any of those things before replacing them? Or was it a hit/hope situation? Have you checked for air leaks? Does it have aftermarket exhaust? Were there any changes that started the low power, or when did you first experience it? Or was it always like that? Have you checked the timing or the compression of the engine? Is there any smoke?

There are a lot of things still that could be at fault, so you'll have to narrow them all down. That's why identifying changes (ie new exhaust means change in the air/fuel ratio) are helpful to understand.

Inherited my 2008 with a CV40 carb, never knew it wasn't factory. But you are right, it should be EFI. I haven't been riding it lately because it needs carb work.

Where in Baltimore are you? Can Baltimore Harley on 40 look at it? Might be too old. I only say that because Chesapeake Harley said my 05 would be on a waiting list IF they decided they would work on it. Newport Cycles in Forest Hill is my go to independent.
